It's All About Love

Weddings are all about love, right? Those of you ladies who are happily married would probably rather get rid of just about anything else than part with your wedding dresses -- I know I would. But the big-hearted and unselfish rocker Maria Daines is auctioning hers off -- for dog rescue funds.

Here's the deal. DDAWatch has accepted the care of seven dogs who need rehoming, and in the meantime they have the care, feeding, and medical evaluations of these dogs. Maria, as her followers will know, is nothing if not devoted to the care of animals in need of rescue, and she has not one but two auctions running (on a short timetable) to raise funds for these dogs. One auction is for a full set of six of her CDs, which I can personally recommend! They are at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170659366364 .

The second auction is the one that brings tears to my eyes. Maria is actually auctioning off her wedding dress, because, as she says, the dogs need the money more than she needs the dress. That auction is here:

Ladies, if a wedding is in your future please open your hearts and your pocketbooks and make your wedding both green and cruelty-free by walking down the aisle in a dress that has saved animals‘ lives! A recycled wedding gown will be kind to your purses and your furry friends, and you will not only have the satisfaction of looking gorgeous as you take that long-awaited walk with your beloved, you will know that you have done your part to help animals desperately in need of a second chance at love.

The dress is a Gino Cerruti designer ball gown/wedding dress, so even if you are not on the verge of saying “I do,” you can still look elegant on a big evening out and help animals at the same time.

My pleasure, Maria! Your work on behalf of animals in need of help is tireless, and your songs really hit home. Here’s hoping those auctions raise plenty of money to tide these wonderful dogs over till they get to their forever homes.
